On March 10, Dr. Bolor Buyandelger, Foreign affairs officer of MNCEA, participated in the UMAP 2023 Board Meeting on behalf of the UMAP Mongolia National Secretariat and delivered a presentation on UMAP Mongolia activities.

The March 2023 UMAP Board meeting was held in a hybrid format, with five countries represented by virtual attendees and eight countries with in-person attendees. The meeting was presided over by Dr. Christian Jorge Torres Ortiz Zermeño the UMAP Chairperson and President of the University of Colima, with the assistance of Dr. Randall Martin, UMAP Deputy Secretary General and Mr. Ajay Patel, UMAP Secretary General.

UMAP is the acronym for the “University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific”. Founded in 1991, it is a voluntary association of government and non-government representatives of the higher education sector. The general aim of UMAP is for each of the countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region to achieve a better understanding of the cultural, economic and social systems of the other countries and territories in the region through enhanced cooperation among higher education institutions and increased mobility of university students and staff.

MNCEA has been in charge of UMAP Mongolia National Secretariat since January 2020.
