MON-NARIC HELD VIRTUAL MEETING WITH KARIC

On March 17, the Mongolian National Information Center for Academic Recognition held a virtual meeting with the Korea Academic Recognition Information Center (KARIC) to exchange expertise and good practices.

The participants from the two centers made presentations on the origin, development, legal status, structure, functions and international cooperation of their respective centers, and discussed about the implementation of the Tokyo and Global Conventions. Moreover, they agreed to establish a Memorandum of Understanding and expand cooperation in the near future.

KARIC was launched by the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE) in September, 2017 to lay the groundwork for implementing the Asia-Pacific Regional Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications in Higher Education. It was designated as a National Information Center (NIC) in 2019.

KARIC aims to provide official information on Korean higher education for stakeholders both at home and abroad to enable the competent recognition authorities to ascertain whether the quality of the qualifications issued by foreign institutions justifies the recognition and to support the policy development and internationalization of Korean higher education.
