On Feb. 15, 2022, the U.K. magazine Times Higher Education (THE) released its 2022 Young University Rankings. The rankings, launched in 2012, assess the world’s best universities that are 50 years old or younger.  A total of 539 universities from 74 countries and regions were assessed across all their core missions—teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook—to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons available. According to THE, the rankings were based on the same 13 performance indicators as the flagship THE World University Rankings, but the weightings have been adjusted to give less weight to reputation.
